I served six years in the United States Marine Corps. After the military, I went into roofing—working for two different companies and learning the trade from the ground up. I saw what good roofing looked like, and I saw a lot of what it shouldn't.

In 2017, I started K&D Roofing with a simple idea: do the job right, treat people with respect, and stand behind your work.

Nine years later, K&D has installed over 1,200 roofs across the Triangle. We're a GAF Master Elite contractor—top 2% in the country. We're certified to install FORTIFIED Roofs, the gold standard for hurricane protection. And we've earned 305+ five-star reviews from people who trusted us with the biggest investment of their lives.

I'm 37 now. Married, two kids, still in Raleigh. My team and I make sure every job meets our standards. And I stand behind every warranty we issue—because this isn't just a business. It's my name.

How K&D Became One of the Top Roofers in the Triangle

2017–2019: The Beginning

Todd launched K&D Roofing after serving six years in the Marine Corps and working for two other roofing companies. The early years focused on roofing and gutters—building a reputation one job at a time.

2020: GAF Master Elite® Certification

K&D earned GAF Master Elite status—a distinction held by only the top 2% of roofing contractors nationwide. This opened the door to GAF's best warranties and set K&D apart.

2022: Siding & Windows

K&D expanded into siding and window installation, becoming a full-service exterior contractor for homeowners across the Triangle.

2023: Licensed General Contractor

K&D earned NC General Contractor License #84720—a higher level of licensing that requires proven experience, financial stability, and accountability.

2024: Solar Partnership

K&D partnered with local installer Emerald Energy to offer solar as an add-on to roofing projects. K&D handles the entire sales process; Emerald handles installation.

2026: FORTIFIED Roof™ Certified

K&D earned FORTIFIED Roof™ certification through the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS)—one of a small number of contractors in North Carolina qualified to build roofs engineered to withstand severe weather.
