Today’s post is all about the beautiful parks in Garner. Whether you’re looking to go for a jog, enjoy a picnic, or spend time with friends, here are some of the best places to do just that.

Lake Benson Park

Being located on a lake makes this park one of the city’s best. Many of the people who visit the park regularly say that it’s one of their favorites. Features throughout the park include an area for dogs, grills, picnic benches, fishing and boating, walking trails, bathrooms, and a playground for the kids. Garner Recreational Park

Another community favorite, the Garner Recreational Park, has no shortage of amenities for those that are looking to enjoy the park. The playground is a large attraction for families because of the many ages that can enjoy it. Long walking trails that twist and turn through nature areas allow for bird watching and spotting other little critters if you’re lucky. There are also clean bathrooms on-site, a picnic area, and large fields for the kids to run and toss the ball around.

Garner Veterans Memorial

Many cities have veterans memorials, and they aren’t necessarily considered to be parks in the sense that you might be thinking. But, the Garner Veterans Memorial is a place where you can learn about the history of those from Garner that have served our country.

This park offers a play area for kids and trails that you can enjoy while reflecting on our country’s freedoms. We encourage you to visit this park.

Centennial Park

Offering a large playground, open fields for soccer tournaments, and picnic areas to enjoy. The city primarily uses Centennial Park as a place for the schools and soccer leagues to schedule games on the turf fields, but when you visit, and there aren’t any games, the fields are great for practicing or playing around with friends.

If you’re looking to catch a bit of a soccer game, then you might enjoy seeing that as well in the park. It’s one of the many benefits of living in a healthy community like Garner.

South Garner Park

South Garner is home to a number of recreational areas offering sports fields, tennis courts, a large playground area, and a hiking trail. What more could you ask for out of a park?

If you have kids in sports, you’ll likely have them out to this field for a baseball or softball game at some point. The tennis courts are well lit and great for recreational use whenever they’re not reserved by school organizations.
